本属の中では大型の種。本州、九州から知られる他、中国からも記録がある。日本では、ヤブランやナルコユリ等のユリ科の花から多くの成虫及び幼虫が得られる。

It is a large sized species in the genus. It is known from Honshu and Kyusyu and is also recorded from China. In Japan, numerous individuals of adults and larvae are collected from flowers of Liliaceae such as Liliope platyphylla and Polygonatum falcatum.
